抄録: The scales of self-esteem, self-efficacy, feeling of school adjustment, and motivation were administered to 274 elementar y school students. In addition, the scale of Arithmetic competence and interest was administered. The exploratory factor analysis showed five factors in the scale of Arithmetic competence and interest. With regard to gender difference, female students showed statistically higher scores on“ Reading” and “Feeling of school adjustment,” while male students showed higher scores in“ Physical Ability” and“ Arithmetic competence.” With regard to grade difference, except for “feeling of school adjustment” and“ Anxiety for Arithmetic,” there were tendencies of declining scores with age. Multiple regression analysis showed that the influences of intrinsic motivation on Arithmetic competence increased with age. That implied the importance of intrinsic motivation in order to improve Arithmetic competence. (126 words)
